O hai thurr! I’m Vivek.

I was born in Bangalore, India and then moved to the US at the ripe old age of 3. I grew up in Michigan staring at world maps and drawing and designing typefaces and airports. Then I moved to Seattle for work and lived there for 3.5 years.

In April 2012, I left my corporate job in the Emerald City, in favor of travel and exploring a variety of different projects more aligned with me.  So in July, I left the US to do some of the socially-integrative travel I’d been meaning to do for a while. Since then, I’ve spent time in Berlin, Singapore, Bali, Hong Kong and now Bangalore, with several jaunts to cities neighboring these. My favorite places in the world so far have been San Francisco, Amsterdam and Singapore.

This past year, I’ve worked with a few companies and organizations on marketing, content development and design. I’ve helped launch products and edit stories. I’m continuing that stuff and diving head first into exploring more design work. My loves are  typography, illustration, hand lettering and type-treated photography. Check it out!

I think the world needs a more level playing field in terms of idea/knowledge/creativity/culture-sharing. So I’m working on building Globalizer.co, which will be an online magazine featuring unique music, design and commentary from around the world. Say hi to us on Twitter and Facebook!
